Internship abroad

Doing an internship abroad during your studies

The Faculty Spatial and Environmental Planning does not organise internships abroad itself. However, there are various organisations and programmes that can promote and financially support internships abroad during and shortly after your studies. For internships in Europe, for example, the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union is an option.

Internship in Europe with Erasmus+

An internship within Europe can be funded as part of the ERASMUS+ programme. This programme also provides funding for graduates and teaching assistants.

To plan and organise an internship via Erasmus+, please contact the EU Service Point in Mainz!

The ERASMUS internship programme supports internships within Europe (= EU member states, Macedonia, Turkey, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). The duration of the internship must be at least 2 months and a maximum of 12 months.

Teaching assistants can also be funded under this programme. A teaching assistant is considered an ERASMUS+ internship and must fulfil the relevant requirements.

The internship must be organised by the studentbefore applying for ERASMUS funding, as the confirmation of the foreign internship company must be submitted with the application.
